Roza organizes the first heptathlon event for children in Thailand in order to hope to create a young athlete to the sports industry at the national level

“Sport” is an important tool for helping the youth development of the country to be healthy and ready to grow into an adult with quality. Even if they are trained and follow the rules and regulations as well as various obstacle-based competition patterns as a test of mental state and determination of the sport player, that will make the children learn, self-develop, and ready to be important personnel in the development of the country in the future.

Hi-Q Food Products Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of Roza brand food products, saw the importance of this activity, so we cooperated with the Athletics Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage to organize the first sports competition “Heptathlon Competition for Children” in Thailand under the 4th Roza Kid’s Athletics in the final round in order to hope to be a part of the sport potential promotion and development of children in the northeastern area and provide opportunities for them to enter the sports industry at the national level.

The project “ROZA Kid’s Athletics” is a collaboration project between Roza and the Athletics Association of Thailand and has been organized for the fourth consecutive year in the elementary school areas in the upper northeastern area of 7 provinces, namely Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Loei, Nakhon Phanom, and Sakon Nakhon. The objective of this project aims to promote sustainably healthy Thai youths by exercise in line with the age development, which will help strengthen their body to grow with age and have fun exercising, and to develop the knowledge and competence of sports trainers in in the elementary school level to understand a wide range of motor skills that lead to teaching for children in school, which is an important foundation for the development of national sports. Over the past three years, the project has been very successful with good cooperation from the schools and delivers more athletes to compete every year. In this year, 132 schools competed in the sports competition, with 128 athletes who entered the final round to compete in the heptathlon competition, and 8 winning schools received a prize of 20,000 baht per team along with a field trip and a new experience in Bangkok. Also, this year, the winning schools are Ban Dong Klang School, Udon Thani Province, Ban Pak Suay Community School, Nong Khai Province, Anuban Thung Phon School, Udon Thani Province, Roslin Khakanang School, Nong Khai Province, Anuban Banphia Mittaphab 138 School, Udon Thani Province, Ban Non Sawan Nong Khae School, Nong Bua Lam Phu Province, Ban Sabaeng School, Udon Thani Province, and Romklao School, Nong Bua Lam Phu Province.

For competition “ROZA Kid’s Athletics” is the first heptathlon event for children in Thailand. This competition is adjusted from the heptathlon competition for adults divided into two categories: male type called decathlon (10 types) and female type called heptathlon (7 types), applied by the association for this competition for children and adapting the seven types of athletics to suit the children: 60-meter running, hurdles, long jump, high jump, throwing the shot, softball throwing, and 800-meter running. Let’s listen to the feelings and opinions of the children who participated in this competition.

Mangpo Phusumrong (Mang Po), aged 12, at Ban Dong Klang School, Udon Thani Province, said “I was very fun. I have never had a formal sports competition like this before. I have practiced a lot, but it is very the worth participating in this competition.”

Peerapat Chantaban (Nong Fue), age 12, at Ban Dong Klang School, Udon Thani Province, said “I am very excited. From the day I realized that I had qualified for the final round, I have paid attention to practice every day with teachers to help plan the rehearsal. Today, I have come to compete and have a lot of fun.”

Chutathip Chaiken (Nong Nan), aged 12, at Roslin Khakanang School, Nong Khai Province, said “It is a very challenging competition. I did not think there will be heptathlon competition for children because it is a really tough competition. When I knew that my school had qualified for the competition, I was very happy and thought that I will do my best to practice taking the first prize to give to the teachers and my family. I succeeded today. Thank you very much.”

And this is another good thing with appreciation and determination to help promote sustainable health of Thai youths and is the future of the nation.
